“I have suffered for a long time, so no turning back” Stated Quaye in an interview.

The new interim WBO Africa junior welterweight champion, Ghana’s Robert Quaye aka Stopper who defeated Vincent Mbilinyi of Tanzania in one round believes this is the time God has prepared for him to make his name and climb to the top of his boxing career.

 

Before flooring the Tanzanian twice to finish him off and win the interim WBO Africa junior welterweight title on the maiden Don’s Promotions bill has suffered a lot in the slums of James Town, and now wants to change from worse to good, better and best as he is not ready to relinquish the new title, but go on to win the main title belt and hit the world stage.

 

He thanked his new managers, Don’s Promotions and Box Office for grooming him into a champion and he will not disappoint Ghanaians, but train hard to become a world champion.

On Boxing Day, Obodai Sai also won the WBO Africa Middle weight title to give Ghana as many as 7 WBO Africa champions.

Sai aka The Miracle also commended Don’s Promotions headed by Mr. Yarboi Annan for his efforts at supporting boxers and the game of boxing which is a big business venture.

Obodai defeated tough talking South African, France fighting time Ramabolu to become the new WBO Africa middleweight champion.

He also thanked the sponsors like StarTimes, De Luxy Paints, No. 8 Buscuits, Adidas and the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) under the leadership of lawyer Peter Zwennes for their support and assistance in ensuring that the right things are done to put Ghana boxing among the world best in terms of promotions.
