Ghana’s newest IBF world champion Richard Oblitey Commey has so far won all the titles he has set sight on as he took stock of his journey so far, he recounted his title ship destination.

“I have now won every boxing belt I have fought for as a pro.” The Jamestown native said.

Commey further listed them “The Ghanaian lightweight title, the IBF Continental Africa lightweight title. The African Boxing Union title, the Commonwealth lightweight, the IBF Intercontinental lightweight title, the World Boxing Council International silver lightweight title and the now most important of all the IBF lightweight world title.” He continued “I’m a firm believer of fighting for these titles or similar as it shows the steps you have to take to climb to the top of your sport.”

Richard Commey took time to thank everyone who supported his journey through the years.

“Thanks to everyone for all the support through the years even the tough times.” He concluded.

The Ghanaian sustained an injury against Russia’s Isa Chaniev in their world title battle last week Saturday which may affect his April unification with Ukranian southpaw Vasyl Anatoliyovych Lomachenko.

Lomachenko is the current World Boxing Association Super World Lightweight champion and World Boxing Organisation World Lightweight champion.
