I have not been tested so far hence my best is yet to come –  John Zile

New UBO International Super Bantamweight Champion, John Zile aka ‘The Monster’ has disclosed that his best is yet to come in the ring.

“I have not been tested and so far my opponents give up on time when I want us to go on and entertain the fans” he stated.

Speaking to Yours Truly on Omashi TV live sports show ‘The Big Fight Night’, he said his ambition is to win a world title.

According to Zile who attended Tuabodom SHS, he initially wanted to become a lawyer, then when he realized he was a good sportsman turned to football which brought him to Accra to Charity Stars at Bubuashie, but he diverted to boxing when he was benched by his football coach.

“I saw that my future in football was bleak so I decided to become a boxer” he said.

Undefeated Zile who currently has a record of 15 bouts with two draws noted that after watching Isaac ‘The Royal Storm’ Dogboe, he got convinced that he can also box and joined the Beach Boxing Gym.

Along the line, he met Mr. Gordon Frimpong of Osibor Management & Promotions who took him to the Bronx Boxing Gym at James Town and his life has changed since, because he met friendly gym mates and he has won two titles, the LBO and UBO titles.

He thanked the Osibor team and Coach Carl Lokko as well as the media who have projected him.

He described his bout against Bismark Saah which was declared a draw as his best. “I know I won that fight, and wish we can do it again to decide who wins” he expressed.

Zile thinks Ghana Boxing is not moving well like the days of former champions Azumah Nelson who is his idol and called for more investment from the government.

He was sad the Black Bombers are not taking part in the Olympic Games and urged them to train hard to make it to Los Angeles 2028.
