“The greatest glory in living, lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall”-Nelson Mandela

Former IBF world champion Richard Commey has shown that he’s ready to rise up again from his fall from glory to even “bigger” glory at 140lbs after he lost to Ukranian poster boy Vasiliy Lomachenko in December last year.

The Streetwise Global Ambassador announced his comeback for his title when he knocked out Jackson Marinez in 6, this earned him a title eliminator shot with Lomachenko who coincidentally was on the same mission.

Having lost to Lomachenko at his regular 134lbs, Commey now seeks to become not only a two time world champion but a two-division world champion. The Ghanaian have secured a shot against Jose Pedraza in the Super-Lightweight division which is set for July 23.

In a tweet, Commey revealed his eagerness to step into the ring again, fighting for himself and his motherland, Ghana.

“Can’t wait!! Training hard for this new chapter in my career at 140lbs and I can’t wait to represent Ghana and my people again 🙏🏿🇬🇭🙏🏿”

Commey’s tweets, always depicts his passion and the source of his motivation; The people of his country, Ghana!

It’s barely two months for the Jamestown native to begin his new chapter in the Junior Welterweight/ super lightweight division, as we wait for the official announcement and venue, we wish team Commey the very best in the pursuit of ‘greatest glory’ as described by the former South African President, Nelson Mandela in a quote.
