“I felt I boxed well in the Chaniev fight, but I know that I can be better than that and will continue to improve under the guidance of my training team headed up by Andre Rozier.”
So says IBF lightweight king of the world, Ghana’s Richard Oblitey Commey in an interview with Chris Glover.
The Jamestown native is not allowing himself to feel complacent at all and is of the firm believe that he is still work in progress under Andre Rozier.
Richard Commey (28-2, 25 KOs) was penciled to fight a unification battle against Ukranian poster boy Vasily Lomachenko (12-1, 9 KOs) in April but got cancelled after the former sustained an injury in his world title demolishing of Russia’s Isa Chaniev at the Ford Center, Frisco in Texas.
Though nursing an injury, the Ghanaian warrior took time to address the little business of Lomachenko.
“Lomachenko is a great fighter and when we clash it will be a great fight., but he hasn’t felt power like mine before, and I believe that I can beat him in explosive style.” Newest IBF champ stated.
For many including former Ghanaian world champions, Richard Commey will walk through Lomachenko in some rambo style but must manage his ambitions with good timing.
