“I am your Mohammed Ali, I am your Evander Holyfield, I am your Mike Tyson… combined in one” -According to Deontay Wilder

Like him or hate him the self styled Black Bomber, Deontay Leshun Wilder is such a character in morden day boxing showbiz. More like football’s Jose Mourinho, the WBC heavyweight champion enjoys controversies and in as much as you probably may not agree with some of his very sensitive comments, you probably must admit that he backs the talk with action.

Lets walk you through some of the interesting and controversial statements or actions by Deontay Wilder.

“This is the only sport where you can kill a man and get paid for it at the same time. It’s legal. So why not use my right to do so?”

Wilder made these controversial comments ahead of his boxing match with Dominic Breazeale and even entreated his nemesis on the night to “make some funeral arrangements”

Of course, that comment did not sit well with most people including Tony Bellew who scathingly called Wilder “a disgrace and senseless idiot.”

Earlier Wilder had made a similar comments about wanting a body on his record

“I want a body on my record. I want one. I really do, That’s the ‘Bronze Bomber’. He wants one. I always tell people that when I’m in the ring then I’m the ‘Bronze Bomber’ and with him, it’s so crazy, I don’t really care. Everything about me changes. I don’t get nervous. I don’t get scared. I don’t get butterflies. I don’t have any feeling towards the other man in the fight.”

“Go cry at the alter he brought his own kid into this not me. I’ve been silent for three months while he talk but when I finally speak it’s the worst thing said ever …you people are miserable f***!!!”

Recall how the American branded Tyson Fury a “Coward”

“He knows he’s not getting $100 million, not even $80 million, and it probably ain’t even $70 million. His promoter [Arum] even said that himself. So, he wanna run around here like he getting a $100 million contract; that’s not true, but he wanna use that as a cop out to not fight me, that’s a coward, that’s a f** coward if I’ve ever seen one.”

After Anthony Joshua’s shocker against Andy Ruiz, Wilder branded him as such

“He wasn’t a true champion. His whole career was consisted of lies, contradictions and gifts.
Facts and now we know who was running from who!”

Deontay wilder is a different animal in modern day commercial boxing but like him or hate he is a man of his words.
