British heavyweight, Daniel Dubois is the new WBO Global Heavyweight champion after knocking out Ghana’s Richard Lartey Harrison in the fourth round at SSE Arena in Wembley to extend his unbeaten record on Saturday night.
The Greenwich fighter moved his professional record to 11-0 with a dominant victory over his Ghanaian opponent.

After three highly entertaining rounds, Dubois dropped Lartey with a brilliant right hand and referee Bob Williams called off the fight.
“It was a fire fight, and I was still basically trying to hit him with shots,” he told BT Sport.
“I let my mind go then I thought, ‘You know what, I need to pick the right shots”.
“I hit him with a good shot and caught him on the point where I wanted to all night, so it was a lesson learnt.’

Dubois who will jump to number 5 in the WBO ratings is now set for a British title fight with Joe Joyce, another crack boxer.
When asked if he will beat 33-year-old, he said: “Definitely – as long as the preparation is right, I stay focused, listen to the people around me, I’ll beat anyone I believe.”
Joyce, who has won all eight of his bouts, said he thought Dubois “got a little troubled’ by Lartey.
“It was a very entertaining fight, he got the job done,” said Joyce.
“Fighting him is an option – I’ve got a fight in Stevenage, that’s a good warm-up, then I should be out again in July.”

Meanwhile, some Ghanaian boxing fans are calling for a rematch between Daniel Dubois and Richard Harrison Lartey as the later was frustrated by the British High Commission and he was issued a visa two days to the fight.
His coach was denied a visa and could not travel.

In another development, Cabic Management have be commended for ensuring that Harrison was in London to honour the fight which attracted massive media attention.
