Yoofi Boham is one of the luminary brains that have brought boxing in Ghana to its highest pedestal. Once and still the biggest power player in boxing, a phantom phenom in the sweet science of pugilism and a bullhorn of a gentleman.
The peerless boxing administrator, promoter, manager and matchmaker has gone through the ranks with the likes of Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Joshua Clottey and co. and in recent years Isaac Dogboe, Jesse Manyo Plange and Wasiru Mohammed.
Yoofi Boham was born on the 23rd of January 1948 and has seen it all in terms of boxing administration and management.
He has equally left a blueprint for boxing legends and hall of famers like Azumah Nelson and is still very active in the promotion of Ghana boxing and churning out stars and world champions like Isaac Dogboe and the likes.
He has had a lot of influence in many boxing administrators, promoters and even trainers like coach Lawrence Carl Lokko.
On this special day, Mr. Yoofi Boham decided to appeal to government to extend a hand of support to the art of pugilism as a birthday wish.
“I am appealing to government to support the sports that has and continues to offer so much to the country in term of laurels. Individuals are trying but the government must meet them halfway.” Yoofi Boham said.
“I see so many world champions in the making. The likes of Manyo Plange, Wasiru Mohammed, Robert Quaye, Isaac Dogboe again to reclaim the world title and many others, I can’t mention all the names but the future of Ghana boxing is really great.” Yoofi stated.
BoxingGhana wishes the legend Yoofi Boham a happy 71st birthday on this special day and keep reading for a complete biography of this great man.
