Ghana’s Habib Ahmed took to his Facebook page to officially apologise to Ghanaians for his defeat against Gilberto Ramirez last Saturday the 3rd of February at the Corpus Christi, in Texas USA.

In a very apologetic and touching mood, the James town native expressed his gratitude for the love shown him and promised to do better next time with the experience gained from the said bout.

“I feel so much grateful for the massive support the entire nation gave to me but it was very unfortunate I couldn’t make it to everyone’s expectation.

I must say that my defeat has really taught me a whole lot of lessons when fighting in the international level and it also happens to be my first time as well.

I would like to use this platform to tell everyone about how so sorry I am that I couldn’t make it but I know there is more things ahead of me and will definitely raise the flag of my beloved country so high someday in my career as a professional boxer.” Habib wrote.

Notwithstanding the defeat, most of his fans besieged the Kotoka International Airport yesterday to welcome their hero and it was a sight to behold.

Most followers of boxing were highly disappointed in the manner of his defeat but are convinced that with the right preparation and experience gained, Habib will soon challenge for the world title.
