Ghana’s Habib Ahmed suffered his first defeat to Gilberto Ramirez of Mexico at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi,Texas.
Ahmed, who was hoping to crown his United States debut with the WBO Super middleweight title, was flawed in the six round by the defending Champion Ramirez by way of a Knockout.
In one of the most one sided fight ever, Ahmed , was simply battered by the Mexican, Ramirez in all the rounds.
Ramirez, now commands 37 wins, out of which he manged 25 knockouts with no defeat.
Admittedly, Ramirez was just a delight to watch as he chased Ghana’s Habib Ahmed all over the ring with some swift combination of punches.
Like a predator, he wore his victim out with some delightful hard punches to the body of Ahmed, which unsettled the Ghanaian.
“Zurdo, was the better man in the ring tonight, I tried but he was all over me. His experience in big fights was too much for me to handle.” magnanimously conceded Habib.
This was by far Ramirez’s best fight ever in the annuls of his flamboyant record and the Ghanaian was simply a mis-match for him on the day.
The fight just needed to be stopped in the final minutes of the six round by referee Lawrence Cole, due to the consistent punishment by Ramirez to Ahmed
Ramirez, was simply in his vicious element, raining punches on his prey with no mercy at all.
Ghana just lost out to a better prepared fighter. Simplicita!
