GREATER ACCRA BOXING ASSOCIATION LAUCHES ‘NOVICE BOXING’

The Greater Accra Boxing Association after a successful event themed “GIRLS BOX” which was aimed at knocking out teenage pregnancy has come out with an all inclusive even which will engage individuals who have the passion to box.

 

The event which took place on the 24th of April 2021 was an all-female boxing tournament aimed at ending teenage pregnancy and was hosted at the Old City Engineers Compound at James Town. At the end many parents commended the effort of the Greater Accra Boxing Association for their continued effort to help the community both with education and with sports.

With their promise to do more for the society and country at large, GABA has again launched and event “NOVICE BOXING”, a boxing event which is aimed at bringing raw talents through its ranks.

The event which is slated for the 18th of June 2021 is an all-gender event which will see young and energetic novices, showcase their sportsmanship in the ring.

This will give stakeholders and the corporate entities a fell of how needful it is to draw close to boxing as a sport and support individuals who take up boxing both to the amateur and professional.

A discussion with the Administrator and Assistant Organizer, Miss Sarah Lotus Asare indicated that, this will be a platform for individuals who are eighteen years and above with little to no history about boxing but have the desire to learn gain access to the ring as it might be the steppingstone they have been seeking to realize their breakthrough.

GABA in their bid to ensure people enjoy the game are taking it to the grassroots where raw talents can be acquired and nurtured. This will go a long way to help reduce the vices on our streets as well as create career paths for majority of the youth who will participate in the upcoming event.

Boxing Ghana spoke to many stakeholders about their thoughts on this event and their correspondence was all positive as hosts of interviewed individuals believed it would be a life changing experience for those who have always waited for their chance to join boxing.
