The International Boxing Organisation (IBO) has named Ghana’s Roger Barnor to referee Emmanuel Tagoe and Argentina’s Fernando David Saucedo clash at the Bukom Boxing Arena on January 27th.
The fight will be Tagoe’s first defense of his IBO lightweight – he claimed the belt in December 2016 when he recorded a unanimous decision against 44 year-old Mzonke Fana.
According to a letter signed by IBO executive assistant Maria Canizares indicates that the experienced Ghanaian referee will be in the middle for the upcoming fight.
The appointment will be another high profile fight for the Ghanaian who doubles as a boxing judge.
Per the IBO letter, the fight will be judged by Larry Hazzard Jr. from United States of America, Zambia’s John Shipanuka and Italy’s Guilio Piras, the clash will be supervised by Andille Mrika. The IBO officials are expected to arrive in 48 hours to the fight.
Barnor was the man in the middle of the ring when Tagoe defeated Fana to win the belt.
