Jonathan Mbanugu, popularly famed as “Jon Power,” will fight his Albanian counterpart Amarildo Bakaj in Albania for the chance to lift the World Boxing Organization (WBO) youth title.
The Ghanaian is poised to make a statement and hopefully secure the belt come Monday, the 4th of August at the Stadiumi Beselidhja in Lezhe.
Ahead of the much-awaited encounter, Boxing Ghana caught up with his management led by Gordon Frimpong of Osibor Boxing Promotions and Management, and this is what he had to say when quizzed on his protégé’s preparedness.
“We are very prepared for this fight. We are aiming for victory and nothing else. It’s a good exposure and experience for Joh Power, and we want to make the most out of it.” He expressed.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian light heavyweight pugilist is still unblemished and holds a 100 percent knockout ratio in 11 bouts, according to Boxrec’s latest updated records.
But must go past another undefeated boxer in Bakaj(10-0, 10KOs) with similar credential in order to annex the WBO Youth World title.
