Now 2x WBO Africa Super Bantamweight champion, Isaac Sackey recorded an important victory against his opponent from Kenya Michael Nyawade to reclaim the title lost to the current WBO Global titlist Wasiru Mohammed.
The fight came off at the Aborigines Beach Resort, Keta, Ghana and was headlined by Joseph Agbeko’s defence of his WBO Africa strap.
Isaac Sackey had earlier expressed his contentment for winning back his belt on his wall
“Thanks be to Almighty God that am still the WBO AFRICA CHAMPION I just win my title this morning glory be to God n my Manager, Coach and fans as well God bless you all.”
But when BoxingGhana quizzed him on the fight itself, the Chorkor native minced no words, appreciating and accepting the fact that his Kenyan opponent was indeed a tough customer.
“The initial aim was to go for a knockout but Nyawade is a tough customer hence I decided to revise my notes and journey him through the rounds and am happy it did paid off.” Isaac Sackey expressed.
Michael Edward Nyawade, famed Michael Nyawade is a lightweight boxer by every sense of the word. Recall how he was brutally KOed by George Ashie on Wednesday 26, December 2018 at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Accra, Ghana.
The Ghanaian must now continue where he left off after the chaotic incident that occurred at one of the indoor boxing halls at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday, October 13, 2018 when Beninois Referee Adorn Bertin adjudged the then defending champion Sackey unfit to continue the bout after visiting the canvas for the second time in round 2 of their scheduled 12 rounds championship contest.
