Ghana’s welterweight world title hopeful Frederick Lawson suffered a shock defeat to Venezuelan Jose Ruiz Prado famed Juan Ruiz at the 2300 Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA early this morning.
Frederick suffered a headbutt and a shove at the blind side of the referee which got him wobbling and dizzed.
Frederick “General Okunka” Lawson (27-2-0, 21 KO’s) was making a comeback after some months away from the sweet science and was without his experienced world class trainer Lawrence Carl Lokko.
Not even Juan Ruiz could believe the otherwise shock victory let alone a round 4 TKO.
But the Ghanaian is very optimistic of a bigger comeback from his latest setback and thanked all who supported him.
