“Ghana is the number one country in terms of talent and Boxing in Africa..before Nigeria and South Africa” – Peter Kahn

Boxing guru, former manager of Nana Yaw Konadu, and now the co-manager of WBO Africa lightweight champion, Emmanuel “Gameboy” Tagoe Peter Kahn, has rated Ghana as number one in Africa when it comes to boxing.

The experienced boxing promoter, manager, marketer and writer stated this exclusively in an interview with BoxingGhana at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana.

“Ghana is the number one country in terms of talent and boxing in Africa. I rate Ghana number one before Nigeria then South Africa. These are my three best in Africa.”

Peter has managed and promoted dozens of world champion boxers as well as major labels and is currently managing another African talent in South Africa’s Chris Van Heerden whom he recently secured a promotional deal for at Top Rank.

As the co-host of “The Fight Guys” podcast on the SB Nation Radio Network also located on the iHeart Radio app, Peter understands the business aspect of the boxing economy. When quizzed on what Ghana boxing need, he responded

“More eyeballs. We have to start looking at online streaming, more promotions and exposing the boxers to the bigger market like the USA…”
Indeed that was only a summation from a man well vexed in pugilism business as the rest was mostly commendation for the good works instituted by boxingghana.com.

A fight game veteran with over 20 years of experience in the sweet science is absolutely confident in the talents at display in Ghana and hoping to commence business and investment in the budding young hungry pugilist in Ghana.

The New York native born in the Bronx had nothing but praise for the current administrators of Ghana Boxing (GBA) and paid homage to former Ghana greats including his one time protege Nana Yaw Konadu.
