Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) expresses sympathy to Agbotui and Rawlings families

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) on Tuesday visited former president HE Flight Lt. Jerry John Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman to console them on the demise of Madam Victoria Agbotui.

Among the delegation were GBA patron Brigadier General I. B. Quartey, vice president Henry Manly Spain, boxing consultant Yoofi Boham, executive member Alhaji Toffik, promotions director Rabon Dodoo, medical doctor Quaye, technical director Carl Lokko, treasurer Laud Acquaye, secretary general Patrick Johnson,  communications director Sammy Heywood Okine and boxing enthusiast, philanthropist Alhaji Inusah Sally and Prof Azumah Nelson. They presented cartons of mineral water to the bereaved family.

Brigadier General Quartey said the boxing fraternity was touched and came to share their love. He later signed the book of condolence.

Also present to soothe the Rawlings and Agbotui family were classmates of the former first family and two ex Black Stars players, Stephen Appiah and John Paintsil who also donated 100 cartons of Xcel mineral water.

Former Minister of state, Hon Dan Abodapki on behalf of the bereaved family announced that the burial of the late Madam Victoria Agbotui will take place in the Volta Region after funeral rites at the State House in Accra on October 24, 2020.

Madam Victoria Agbotui, mother of the former president died on Thursday, September 24 at the age of 101 after she had celebrated her birthday on Wednesday 9 September, 2020.
