Ghana Amateur Muay Thai Federation Reps. Meet NSA Technical Director and GOC Vice President

Some members of the Pro Fighting Gym who represented Ghana at the first ever African Muay Thai Championship in Morocco have paid a visit to the National Sports Authority (NSA) Technical Director, Mr. Saka Acquaye at his office.

Led by Michael Amanor who was also in Morocco, they briefed the Technical Director of what happened in Morocco which is leading to the formation of a national federation to prepare the team for futher international competition, especially the upcoming World Championship in Mexico and the Olympic Games.

Amanor said the boys from Ghana did exceptionally well, despite no support from the government.

He commended Lawrence Nyanyo Nmai who financed the whole trip and their allowances.

“Our boys did very well. It was their first time and out of 17 nations, Ghana placed third with five bronze and one silver medal” he expressed.

Mr. Acquaye said they have done well and assured them of further support from the Sports Authority.

 

The squad also went to the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) to introduce themselves to the Vice President, Paul Atchoe who also advised them to train hard to keep the flag of Ghana flying high always.

He advised them on how to attract recognition from the GOC and IOC.

He also urged them to organize more programmes and spread into the regions.
