MJA Platinum Managing Director and Manager of 8 World Champions at MTK Global, Australian Mike Altamura in an exclusive interview with BoxingGhana has hinted plans to get Ghanaian boxer George Ashie abroad as part of getting him ready for opportunities

“Get him training abroad as he desired then eye the best available opportunities.” He said “Planning to get a camp organised for him ASAP.” The Consultant with Dubai based MTK Global International told BG.

George “Red Tiger” Ashie (29-5 -1,21 KOs)  born and bred in Jamestown  has had a career blighted with some unfortunate challenges, is one of Ghana’s hottest lightweight prospects even with his 5 controversial defeats which could have gone either ways.

His last defeat was in 2018 against Irishman Stephen Ormond on points at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow -Scotland, United Kingdom — a bout that many people expected a split drawn result as the least case scenarios.

The former World Boxing Organisation Africa Lightweight Titlist, Ashie, brutally KOed Tanzanian fighter Vincent Mbilinyi in the maiden round of their scheduled 10 rounder at the just celebrated Odwira Festival staged at the PTC, Akropong in Ghana.

With his 35 bouts which culminates to 185 rounds, The Ghanaian warrior is still hungry for more successes, though age is his biggest enemy as he is closing in on 35th year age mark.
