The Elections Committee (EC) of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 held a successful meeting with boxing coaches representing clubs in the Greater Accra Region.
The EC was represented by the GBA Secretary General Mr. Patrick Johnson, Treasurer Mr. Laud Acquaye and PRO Mr. Sammy Heywood Okine.
In attendance was second vice president Abraham Neequaye.
The meeting discussed modalities on the gyms/ clubs voting at the Elective Congress which comes off on July 22, 2021 at the Trust Sports Emporium (Bukom Boxing Arena – Mudor Hall) in Accra.
It was agreed that the gyms / clubs must be registered with an address and identity before being allowed to vote.
Also the gyms / clubs must put into writing the names of owners / coaches and boxers including juveniles, females, amateurs and professionals.
The gyms / clubs who were present include Ashiaman, Wisdom, Attoh Quarshie, Will Power, Panix, Black Panthers, Akotoku Academy, Bukom Boxing Gym, Seconds Out Boxing Gym, Sonia Boxing Gym, Discipline Boxing Gym, Fit Square Boxing Gym, Sea View Boxing Gym, Beach Boxing Gym, Stadium Boxing Gym, Square Deal Boxing Gym, Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation, Palm Spring, Bridge Boxing Gym, Ultimate,The Gym and Bronx Gym.
The elections will be supervised by the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
