The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has promised to punish licensed boxers who put the name of Ghana Boxing into disrepute.

Speaking at the Press Conference to announce the next world title bout of Isaac Dogboe by the Rising Star Africa Promotions at the Kempinski Hotel, Lawyer Peter Zwennes, President of the GBA said boxer who try to disgrace the GBA or any member of the fraternity would be put before its Judicial Committee to answer why he or they should not be punished.

The GBA President who mentioned the suit against IBO Lightweight Champion, Emmanuel Tagoe by the father of Isaac Dogboe, the WBO Interim Bantamweight Champion said discipline is very important in boxing, and after “Trash Talks” by boxers to brag and draw fans, there should not be insults or people should not go beyond to make pronouncements to bring boxing into disrepute.

He said the GBA will call erring party to order soon.

He noted that the GBA has already summoned Emmanuel Tagoe and his management and cautioned him to concentrate on putting up better performance as a world champion.

Meanwhile, the GBA President who was chairman for the event said with the capabilities of Dogboe, who is a Ghanaian and African product, just like Azumah Nelson, there is no doubt that he can also be a respected world champion and reign for long.

Isaac Dogboe will travel to Maryland, USA, on April 28th to face Mexico’s Jessie Magdaleno on April 28th, 2018 for the Battle of the Undefeated.
