GBA PRO Sammy Heywood Okine Tips Dogboe To Come Back Strong

The Public Relations Officer / Communications Director of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has tipped Isaac Dogboe to come back strong in his next bout against Chris Avalos of the USA.

Sammy Heywood Okine, an experienced amazing sports journalist who doubles as the Communications Director of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) believes Dogboe also known as the Royal Storm can beat his opponent in the featherweight division.

According to Mr. Okine, popularly known as ‘General One’, the fight will be another tough one for the Ghanaian in his new weight class, but if his cornermen talk to him well and he does what is expected, he can carry the day.

The bout comes up at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Tuesday July 21 on Top Rank Boxing’s ‘Bubble’.

Dogboe has a record of 22 bouts, recording 20 wins and two losses while Avalos has 27 victories with seven losses in 34 fights.

“Avalos aka ‘The Hitman’ may use his longer reach of 170 cm as an advantage against Dogboe’s 163 cm, and he will be coming up as the older boxer at 30 years, but the Royal Storm who is determined to find his lost glory should not rush, and come out very tactical to carry the day” he expressed.

Meanwhile, the GBA, sports journalists and Ghana Boxing Supporters Union have sent goodwill messages to Dogboe.
