GBA EXECUTIVE BOARD MEMBERS VISITED THE FAMILY OF THE LATE J.A ANNAN

GBA Executive Board Members under the leadership of its President, Abraham Kotei Neequaye on Thursday March 19th, paid a courtesy call on the family members of the late J.A Annan of blessed memory,who passed away exactly one week at his residence at Darkuman
The GBA Executive Board Members were respectfully received by some family elders including the wife and children of the late J.A Annan.
After the usual traditional welcome statements and exchange of pleasantries, and information on the last moments leading to the demise of J.A Annan by the family head, Michael Tetteh (GBA deputy chairman of Promotions)responded with a remorseful tone by expressing GBA’s heartfelt condolences and how the GBA and the boxing fraternity felt about the demise of their historian “walking encyclopedia” and promised to play any role the family deem possible to offer J.A Annang a befitting funeral and interment.
The GBA President,Abraham Kotei Neequaye assured the family regarding the preservation of J.A Annan’s body at the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital Mortuary and also urged the family to make sure GBA will be considered in all funeral arrangements.
The GBA President indicated that J.A Annan was a huge personality and a godfather to the boxing fraternity, as a result, the family is been encouraged to consider GBA in the funeral arrangements and processes.
The head of the family, surrounded by other important family members,acknowledged and appreciated what the GBA President appealed for and assured him of the family’s readiness to collaborate with the GBA in that regard. He indicated that the main family funeral meeting has been scheduled in the days to come before they will be able to churn out the funeral programme outline underpinned by the funeral and all other peripheral activities. He promised to update the GBA and the general public with the date afterwards.
On behalf of the GBA and the boxing fraternity, the GBA President took time to put down some sweet words in the book of condolence made available to eulogized and acknowledged J.A Annan and what he has done for Ghana boxing over the past four decades.
The GBA presented packs of bottled water and some drinkables to the family.
The family suggested to provide a copy of book of condolence to the GBA to be placed in their office for members of the boxing fraternity and loved ones to also put down their tributes and words of condolences in honor of one of their own.
The GBA President,received the book of condolence and promised to make it available for all interested persons to pen down their tributes.
The meeting ended in an exciting and mourning note with memories of the late J.A Annan regarding his love for the sport, teachings, contributions,guidance, patience and respect for all.
