GABA 2021 HOMOWO BOXING SHOWDOWN FINALS KICKS OFF TODAY

The Greater Accra Boxing Association (GABA) as part of their contributions towards the celebration of the Homowo festival has yet again launched the ‘2021 Homowo Boxing Tournament’ which will engage many boxers in exhibition bouts.

GABA has over the months engaged in various boxing initiatives such as the ‘Books B4 Hooks’, all juvenile boxing among others and is set to give the community of Bukom another mouthwatering boxing event.

With the weigh-in completed this morning, all is set for the participants to prepare and come to give their best. This is always a time where promoters and managers scout boxers who tend to be polished to world title contenders.

Details of the 2021 Homowo Boxing Tournament Finals are as follows;

Date: Saturday, 14th August 2021

Venue: Bukom Park

Bout Starts: 5pm

 

On the bill for the tournament today will be three bouts fighting in the juveniles and ten others to showcase their talents in an exhibition.

From the juveniles will be

Samuel Lamptey (S/V) vs Faisal Mohammed

Najat Lokko vs Oyo Owoo

Ramzy Addy (Akotoku) vs Shadrak Commey (Beach)

The following will be fighting in the exhibition bouts;

George Lewis vs Alx Darko

Nii Ashietey Denfy (Beach) vs Haruna Mohammed (Wise) in the 92kg weight category

Patrick Kodjoe (Wise) vs Rashed Ampam (Aik) in the 75kg weight category

Charles Tetteh (Pains) vs Samuel Nii Quaye (The Gym) in the 63kg weight category

Joseph Commey (Bip) vs Prince Amarkwei (Bip) in the 60kg weight category

Amadu Mohammed (Siv) vs Francis Quartey (The Gym) in the 54kg weight category

Israel Thompson (The Gym) vs Theophilus Amarkwei (Bip) in the 51kg weight category

Evans Owara (Sharp Pongies) vs Adnan Mohammed Sani (The Gym) in the 80kg weight category

Abdul Aziz Seidu (Aik) vs Jerry Robertson (The Gym) in the 57kg weight category

Bernard Abbey (Disp) vs Alfred Kotey (Aik) in the 67kg weight category

 

As the Bukom Park will be filled to capacity, all are entreated to come early as well noting all COVID-19 protocols on the grounds.
