FURY MAKES DATE WITH SCHWARZ AT THE GMG GRAND ON ESPN+

Now the specific venue official for the 12-round fight of Tyson Fury with Tom Schwarz on June 15 is the MGM Grand Garden Arena and will be telecast live on ESPN+, Top Rank announced on Monday.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be boxing in Las Vegas on ESPN+. I always said I will never go to Vegas until I box there, and now I finally am,” Fury said. “I can’t wait to put on a boxing master class for all my fans. The British and Irish fans will invade Vegas. I can’t wait!” Fury said.

Fury 30, (27-0-1, 19KOs) have been talking big after his fight with Deontay Wilder December 1 last year. The former heavyweight champion in February signed a deal with Top Rank to co-promote him with Frank Warren.

Top Rank was explicit and decisive on where to stage Fury’s first fight when it signed a co-promotional deal with Frank Warren in February and it was Las Vegas. Top Rank had earlier opted for Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas to request the date from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for the event and then the MGM Grand subsequently showed interest in hosting and making Fury’s dream of fighting in Las Vegas a reality.

“I’m very excited about starting the next chapter in the Tyson Fury story. With this new deal and co-promotion with Top Rank, it’s all about getting Tyson out there to a huge audience, and nobody can do that in America like ESPN. He’s the best heavyweight on the planet and the lineal champion. He’s a superstar, and there is nowhere better for a superstar to have his next fight than in the mecca of boxing itself, Las Vegas”. Frank Warren said during the announcement.

Schwarz 24, (24-0, 16KOs) who is very young comparatively to the elites in the heavy division is upbeat about his chances of making history on his debut fight in America.
“A fight in Las Vegas against Tyson Fury is a dream come true. While I appreciate Tyson as a great fighter and a sportsman, I am young, ambitious and in the top of the world rankings. I’ve won 24 fights. I’ve got nothing to lose, and my 25th victory will come against Fury.” Schwarz said.
“This is what I’ve been working for since I was a kid,”

This is a tough one and by far the toughest decision the German has to make in his career, fighting one of the three world’s best heavyweight contenders. May be we are going to witness a shocker, otherwise it will just go through as regular as Schwarz comes in as the heavy underdog in this encounter.
But it’s the fight we’ve got. Maybe Schwarz will shock the world. Probably not, but he’s got his shot at it. June 15 is the date and the venue is the MGM Grand Gardens Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.
