Friends of Boxing (FOB) Congratulate Isaac Dogboe For Winning WBO World Title In Philadelphia, USA

The Friends of Boxing (FOB) have commended Isaac Dogboe for knock outing Mexican Jessie Magdaleno and winning the World Boxing Organisation Junior Featherweight title in style on Saturday April 28, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA.

The message issued by the Secretariat of the Group, said “you have proved that you can do it and you did it grandly. You are indeed a great warrior, the Rising Star of Africa and the Royal Storm. You have emulated our world champions notably; D. K. Poison, Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Nana Yaw Konadu, Alfred Kotey, Joseph Agbeko, Joshua Clottey and Emmanuel Tagoe as the ninth Ghanaian to claim a world title, we are very proud of you”

According to the congratulatory message, FOB is elated that Isaac Dogboe is one of the nominees for Boxer of the Year at the 43rd awards coming up on May 4, 2018, and this victory puts him in contention for the prestigious SWAG Sports Personality.

Dogboe was given a special award at the 42nd SWAG Awards in 2016 and his current feat is an icing on the cake that would make this year’s 43rd ceremony very grand.

The SWAG is also glad that Team Dogboe was not complecent, but went saw and conquered the Mexican champion with 25 wins and 18 knockouts with a knock out to make the work of the ring officials easy.

Isaac Dogboe now has the WBO World/ Interim/Africa/Pacific Unified titles and the WBC Youth title belt.

He represented Ghana at the 2012 Olympic Games. Now he is a matured professional with an unblemished unbeaten record of 19 fights and 19 wins.

His father, Paul Dogboe who was honoured by SWAG as Coach of the Year 2016, and he has also proved to be a worthy trainer with a lot more to come.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), Boxing Writers Association of Ghana (BWAG), Friends of Boxing (FOB) and the Ghana Boxing Supporters Union (GBSU) have congratulated Team Dogboe for make Ghana and Africa proud.
