Audacious and charismatic UK based Ghanaian boxer, Freezy Macbones has chosen to withdraw from the Ghana Boxing Federation team seeking slots for the Olympic Games in Paris.
Seth Gyimah as he’s originally called, competed for Ghana in Dakar, Senegal last year with hopes of securing a place at the 2024 Olympics but lost to homeboy Seydou Konate in the preliminary stages, albeit under controversial circumstances.
An unrelenting character, Freezy staged a grand event under his Macbones Promotions in Accra hoping to exact a revenge on Konate, who pulled out, forcing a late replacement.
The hard-hitting boxer cum promoter was scheduled to travel with the Ghana National Boxing team to Italy in February but in a letter, Macbones revealed his intentions to focus on building up his professional career as well as his promotional venture.
He thanked the Federation for the opportunity to represent his motherland and wished the team well.
