In the latest World Boxing Council rankings for the month of September, Ghana’s own Frederick Lawson is ranked amongst the top 15 best ratings in the WELTERWEIGHT- (147-66.678) division.
The WBC welterweight title was vacant after Keith Thurman vacated it earlier on but Shawn Porter on Saturday exhibited a combinations of boxing and brawling to edge past Danny Garcia at the Barclays Centre In Brooklyn.
The Ghaianaian is gradually inching closer for a world title shot and is currently in the semi finals of the ongoing Jose Sulaiman World Invitational tournament though the compettiton is suspended indefinitely.
