UNACWCA is a functional commissionaffliated to UNA GH, a member of the World Federation Of the United Nations Associations. UNA-CWCA is the UNA affiliate promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women and children.
With gender equality gradually becoming a core mandate of every and agenda in our societies, Boxing Ghana chanced on the inclusion of Richard Oblitey Commey, a Ghanaian professional boxer who held the IBF lightweight title in 2019. Commey previously held multiple regional lightweight titles including the Ghanaian title in 2011, the ABU title in 2013 and the Commonwealth title from 2014-2015.
Richard Commey has been an inspiration to the boxing fraternity and showcased strong sportsmanship in his endeavors. After losing his IBF lightweight title to Teofimo Lopez on the 14th of December 2019, Richard Commey has come back with a champions spirit and energy to ensure he stays on the right path to claiming another world title for himself and Ghana.
On Wednesday, 7th April 2021, Michael Amoo-Bediako Snr while awaiting the introduction of Ghanaian boxing sensation Richard Commey as a Goodwill Ambassador of the UNACWCA which is the United Nations arm in Ghana to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women and children also has another to celebrate. With women and children being the main focal point, Mr. Amoo-Badiako Snr. used the occasion to celebrate his mother who marked her 87th birthday.
Richard Commey after his acceptance of the new office of a ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ reiterated his continues respect and support for women empowerment and equality and pledged his unending support for his new role as an ambassador.
