Former Pound-for-pound King, Floyd Mayweather Jnr has heaped praise on defeated lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez.

The American’s praise comes following Lopez’s unceremonious defeat to Australian George Kambosos Jnr last weekend.

Kambosos recorded a shocking majority decision victory over Teofimo Lopez in a thrilling lightweight contest in Las Vegas.

After the bout, Lopez failed to admit defeat and insisted he was the true winner on the night- a comment that attracted widespread condemnation from the boxing fraternity.

Reacting to the bout on his twitter timeline, Floyd Mayweather Jnr failed to criticise the Mexican-American fighter’s comment but rather, praised the two fighters for a well executed bout.

“I wish these young guys nothing but the best,” Money’s tweet read.

“He [Teofimo Lopez] was undisputed champion, something I never did. Its not like I couldn’t have done it, but I didn’t do it.

“So I am not gonna sit hear and bash him or his dad,” the tweet added.
