“Floyd is a boxing guy unlike Eddie Hearn.. with Eddie Hearn, its all about name and bulls” – Bob Arum

In an answer to a possible match-up between Devin Haney and Vasiliy Lomachenko, Bob Arum took a dig at promoter Eddie Hearn, calling him not a ‘boxing guy’ unlike Floyd Mayweather.

The CEO of Top Rank was answering questions on Gervonta Tank Davis versus Lomachenko when he decided to take the opportunity to attack the matchroom promoter Hearn.

“Floyd knows that anytime he’s ready, we’re prepared to make a Lomachenko-Tank Davis fight, but Floyd is a boxing guy, unlike Eddie Hearn,” said Arum. “Floyd doesn’t want his guy Gervonta Davis to fight Lomachenko until he’s sure he has the experience to even be competitive with a Lomachenko.

“With Eddie Hearn, it’s all about the name and bulls — and all that stuff,” said Arum. “Nobody is judging whether Haney even belongs in the same ring with Lomachenko or 10 other lightweights that I can name. Fans don’t know. They think they know, but they don’t know. Some do obviously, but the professionals know.”

Arum however threw the challenge to Floyd Mayweather, to be sure to revert whenever his protege Tank Davis is ready for the current world champ Vasiliy Lomachenko

“If Floyd gives me the signal that Gervonta is ready, that would be a good competitive fight.” The American lawyer, boxing promoter and businessman stated.

Meanwhile, Gervonta Davis has confidently assured fans that he believes he will fight Vasiliy Lomachenko in the future after the 24-year-old former super-featherweight champion vacated his belt earlier last year to move up to the lightweight division.
