The day to battle for a chance to fight for the WBC world featherweight title is gradually edging closer with just three days to rumble.

Former world super bantamweight champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe looks set and ready to achieve his career dream of becoming a multi-division world champion, but must first clear his nemesis Nick Ball (18-0, 11KOs) who stands on his way this weekend for that important title shot.

In the press conference last night, Dogboe revealed that he never knew or heard who Ball was when he was informed by Top Rank to fight him.

“If it wasn’t for this fight, I wouldn’t have heard of Nick Ball. When the name came up that was when it was put across to me by Top Rank and I had to go look him up. But listen he’s done well and credit to him and his team,” said Dogboe.

Putting the knowledge of his opponent aside, his focus is on just one thing

“However, I can only think of what I’m going to do on the night – that’s what is important and that’s what the fans are coming to see.”

“Listen if you look at my pedigree you know that I come as the whole package. I mean listen, we leave the past in the past.”

“Always focus on the future and that’s giving the fans a great fight and I’m sure everybody can agree that when I step into the ring it’s guaranteed excitement. So that’s also part of it.

“I’ve been tried and tested. I’ve been in the sea and I’ve swam with the big fishes. This is nothing new to me. I’ve fought people who have the pressure, who do everything else by the book and outside of the box. This is something where I need to keep calm and as the fight unfolds make adjustments along the way.”

It’s all set for the WBC featherweight eliminator bout at the Manchester Arena, Manchester this Saturday with two other Ghanaian descents fighting on the cards of Ball-Dogboe; 34 year old Ekow Essuman of UK will face Harry Scarff for the IBF European welterweight title as Denzel Bentley also faces Nathan Heaney with the BBBofC British Middleweight strap at stake.
