Female boxer Ramatu Quaye has expressed her sincere gratitude to Women In Sports Association (WISA) for mentioning her name among the 27 individual winners of the 2019 Ghandour WISA Omy TV Awards which comes off at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday September 28, 2019.
Speaking to Yours Truly, the Ghana Police Service constable said she was surprised to hear her name and thanked Almighty God as well as the organisers of the event.
The 2015 African Games participant who is the amateur first boxer to represent Ghana at an international event advised young girls to chose sports if they have talent so that they would be respected in the society.
Ramatu who trains at the Attoh Quarshie boxing Gym at James Town hinted that sports can make one travel wide, be very popular and rich.
The James Town native who is currently based at Cape Coast hopes to receive the Award and dedicate it to all sports women in Ghana and Africa.
She appealed to the government to support female athletes and organisations that aid them like WISA.
