                  Prince Larbie aka “The Buzz”

Three years ago, my self (Samuel Ofosuhene) and Dennis Moore spotted a talent at the Will Power Boxing Gymnasium, located at Jamestown in the City of Accra, Ghana. We took shots of him for our TV program on a segment captioned ‘Talent Development’ on our Ultimate Sports Magazine Show, which airs Monday 8 -9 PM and Saturday 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Then two years ago, at age 5, we decided to Chronicle a story on this young prodigy and to follow his career path which was headlined

Meet the 5 year old Prince Larbie who is aiming for a world title in 13 years time

Now Prince is soon to hit age 7, I reintroduced him to you, Prince Larbie the young boxing wonderkid who is taking the world of pugilism to a new level, and is now self styled “the Buzz.”

“I love boxing and I want to win the world title someday when I am older.” Prince Larbie told BoxinGhana.com two years ago.

Prince Larbie developed the love for the sweet science of pugilism at an early age when he started following his father, Daniel Nii Larbie, a boxing trainer, to the gym. Daniel took notice of his son at age 3 when the boy started to show his exceptional skillset.

Father and now trainer, Daniel Nii Larbie, offered to help his son nurture his craft but only as a hobby, so Prince Larbie began his training at age three.

“I didn’t force him into boxing, I am a trainer and I have been taking him to the gym and that is where he fell in love with the sport.” He told Boxing Ghana and the HSTV crew then.

“Prince is an intelligent person. Sometimes I’m baffled with his skills. Even the likes of Azumah Nelson and Columbian ambassador have fallen in love with him.” Daniel Nii Larbie revealed in a recent interview.

And indeed why not? The Buzz’s progression and transition has been such a class-act and a delight to watch by many, so we recently did a video of his last fight at the penultimate Fist of Fury bill…… Checkout the full video: Credit to Boxing Ghana and it’s writer Mustapha Nettey

There’s certainly no specific adjective to describe this super talent and fearless fighter as he commands the ring generalship, fights using his footwork as his transitional eye, fast slipping techniques coupled with power and so much energy.

His passion, dedication and discipline in the square ring will blow your mind. No wonder, the young chap is fast winning the hearts of so many players in and outside the boxingdom.

What is undeniable fact is that, indeed a star is born to the world of boxing and is at least on his way to achieving greatness since he ticks all the boxes to become a future great.

Prince is heading to superstardom, according to the boxing hall of famer and legend Azumah Nelson.

“I see this boy and he reminds me so much of my younger self. Styles make a boxer and I believe with everything in mind that with the right discipline, he is going to become my successor.” The professor reiterated.

Perhaps the next time I write about this super-duper of a talent in two years time, Prince ‘The Buzz’ Larbie would have attained the age of 9 and seriously buzzing then.
