Newly crowned WBO Africa lightweight champion Emmanuel Tagoe has described Samuel Anim Addo as a ‘selfish hypocrite’ and lacking respect for signing boxer John Laryea without his knowledge.
Remember BoxingGhana.com last week broke the story headlined “Asamoah Gyan’s Managers Samuel Anim Addo signs John Laryea who is set to explode at the BabyJet Promotions fight night.”
It must be stated that the 18 year old young boxer who goes by the name John Laryea was signed by Samuel Anim Addo in his personal capacity as reported by boxingghana and not the powerful promotional house BabyJet Promotions.
In a story by ghanaweb but credited to saltfmonline, Emmanuel Tagoe purportedly made a myriad of accusations including accusing Samuel Anim Addo for signing a boxer without informing him about it.

“If Sammy had respect for me, he would have asked for my professional opinion before signing a new boxer to the same promotion I’m on. He signed a new boxer (John Laryea) without the knowledge of anyone including our bosses, Asamoah Gyan and Baffour Gyan.” Tagoe alleged.
“Sammy is a hypocrite. He only thinks about himself. He is the reason I was always in the news for bad reasons. He had no knowledge in boxing management but instead of leaving the job for someone who could, he stayed so he could fill his belly,” he said.
When BoxingGhana.Com’s Samuel Ofosuhene contacted the current WBO African lightweight champion to confirm the story, Emmanuel Tagoe decided not to comment.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” Emmanuel Tagoe stated.
The current Chief Executive Officer of Gyan Investment is yet to make a comment to the story but our investigations shows that Samuel Anim Addo was never the manager of the Jamestown native at any material moment but rather Baffour Gyan.
It is also not true that BabyJet Promotions signed John Laryea because we made it clear from our headline therefore the CEO of Gyan Investment did not need the consent of Emmanuel Tagoe.
A reliable source close to Anim Addo also recounted how Emmanuel Tagoe until recently has never gone shy of damning headlines.
A typical example they mentioned was when he took on the current GBA President Lawyer Zweness in a bizzare encounter.
Speaking with colleague Journos on the allegations made by Tagoe, most senior Journos felt that Tagoe rather have himself to blame for his seemingly disrespect for authority and fellow boxers.
According to colleague journos Tagoe’s uncensored inpudence has led him to incur the anger of many including stakeholders in the industry.
They added that, if his career has stalled then perhaps he is a part to blame for that. His attitude of running down anybody that share a contrary position with him makes the person an enemy.
As he virtually run down Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Richard Commey, Joshua Clottey and even the current world champion Isaac Dogboe.
We in BoxingGhana feel that these matters must be privately nipped in the bud for the lasting image of the promotional house and the stakeholders involved.
