International Boxing Organisation (IBO) has ordered their lightweight champion Emmanuel Tagoe from Ghana up to June 15th to defend his title against number one contender Fedor Papazov from Russia.

According to a letter signed by IBO president ED Levine the two camps will have 30 days to reach an agreement or purse bid would be called by the association.

The fight will be Tagoe’s second defense of his strap – he won the belt in December 2016 courtesy a unanimous decision against South Africa’s Mzonke Fana.

On January 27th, 2018, the James Town made his first defense of his belt after stopping Argentina’s Fernando David Saucedo in round 10.

Papazov set a date with Tagoe after beating Germany’s Howik Bebraham via a split decision on March 10th, 2018.
