Emmanuel Tagoe now 4th in the latest WBO rankings… Duke Micah, Isaac Dogboe among others in good standing as well

Ghana’s Emmanuel Tagoe is now ranked 4th by the World Boxing Organization in the latest rankings released last week.

Ahead of his bout on the 23rd of this month against Russian Vyacheslav Gusev, the current World Boxing Organisation Africa Lightweight champion is optimistic of victory come Feb 23 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

Equally at stake in that duel is the vacant International Boxing Federation International Lightweight Title.

There were other notable Ghanaian fighters that made a jump in the very latest WBO rankings.

World Boxing Organisation Africa Super Middleweight Champion, Emmanuel Martey (14-0,10 KOs) was ranked 10th in the Super Middleweight division which houses Mexican Gilberto Ramirez Sanchez as the current champion (39-0-25 KOs).

In the WBO Super Welterweight Rankings, Cabic Promotions and Management’s flagship fighter and the reigning World Boxing Organisation Africa Super Welterweight champion Patrick Allotey is placed 11th on the chart.

Ghana’s former WBO World Junior Featherweight champion Isaac ‘The Royal Storm’ Dogboe maintained his number 5 position on the ratings. In that same division, E & J promotions’ most promising fighter Wasiru Mohammed, self styled the ‘Gyata Bi’ is ranked 14th. Wasiru is equally the current World Boxing Organisation Africa Super Bantamweight Champion.

WBO World Bantamweight division, The “Baby face Terminator” and the current World Boxing Council International Bantamweight titlist Duke Micah is positioned 3rd on the ratings.

Ghana’s as well as Africa’s only heavyweight champion Richard Harrison is still 14th on the rankings.

In that same division, Veteran champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Africa Bantamweight champion Joseph the ‘King Kong’ Agbeko who is scheduled to fight Hashimu Zuberi (15-3, 5 KOs) of Tanzania on the 19th of April, 2019 at the Aborigenes Beach Resort, Keta, Ghana is ranked 4th.
