BoxingGhana.com caught up with Peter Kahn, the co-manager of, former IBO world champion and current number two on the WBO ratings, Emmanuel Tagoe.

Enjoy the short but revealing dialogue:

Que: Hello Peter, are we expecting a fight any time soon for Tagoe?

Ans: Yes. Absolutely. Gameboy will have his P1 Visa within a few days and then off to the USA shortly thereafter.

He could possibly fight in December, but most likely at the beginning of 2020.

Que: Any opponent in mind?

Not yet, but he will be in meaningful fights as he takes aim at the lightweight world title.

Que: Is Emnanuel Tagoe leaving for the states.

Yes.

Que: When exactly is he leaving Ghana for the States, October?

Ans: As soon as the Visa is presented, we’re looking to bring him here. Definitely before the end of the year.

Que: What is the plan towards a world title shot?

Ans: Keeping Tagoe busy and looking at a possible world title eliminator or straight to a world title shot. He’s already ready.

Que: Any timelines

Ans: I don’t know. It depends as to what scenarios present themselves, but Emmanuel Tagoe is fighting for the lightweight world title in 2020.

Que: What has been your biggest challenge so far with Tagoe?

Ans: Getting the Visa to come to the USA.

The biggest fights available to him are in the USA. This is where he needs to be, this is where the big fights are, in the lightweight division.

Que: Any opinion to share on the American consulate in Ghana?

I am confident that everything will go smoothly. He was approved August 5th.
