Undefeated Ghanaian pugilist Duke Akuetteh Micah maintained his number one contender slot in the latest World Boxing Organisation (WBO) bantamweight(118 lbs) division.
The ratings was released by the sanctioning body the WBO last week and Duke though dormant for some months still commanded the position he rightly earned in September of this year 2018.
The twenty seven year old Duke Micah currently based in the United States of America still holds the WBC International bantamweight strap which he won in 2017 against Mexican Jose Santos Gonzalez (23-7,13KOs).
Nicknamed ‘The Baby Faced Terminator,’ Duke is eyeing the world title in 2019.
” I am going for the world title in 2019, that is my target.” He stated.
In his 22 bouts so far, the Ghanaian has 118 rounds of boxing to his credit with an incredible knockout percentage of 83.
Duke Micah (22-0, 18KOs) whose last encounter in the ring was against American Thomas Snow in June by which he won via a split decision over ten rounds, is one of Ghana’s hottest prospects for the world title come next calendar year 2019.
