Micah dropped Rivera twice to win unanimously.

An exciting night for the newly signed PBC world title prospect Duke Micah and 2012 Olympian made his second appearance in the ring this year at the Barclays Center, New York on the card of Charlo-Hogan after dispatching previous opponent Luis Roy Suarez Cruz  in 2 rounds, on August 31 2019.

Micah 28, (24-0, 19KO) climbed the ring very expectant of a win and knew he was either taking out Janiel Rivera or winning convincingly “We have trained and sometime you don’t have to underrate anybody, I’m going to exhibit good boxing skills and when the opportunity comes, I will take him out but I’m promising you a good show”, said Micah during his last training section when interviewed fighthype.com

The fight started amidst great cheers from the crowd as the two boxers begin to go at each other in an eight (8) round contest.

Both boxers had a good first round sizing each other but with an impressive aggression Micah landed a good left jab snapping Rivera’s head back and then followed with quick left hook sending him to the canvas.

Janiel Rivera 28, (18-6-3, 11KOs) recovered quickly and dropped Micah in the third round with a straight right.

The fight got heated with both boxers being aggressive but Micah was the better man dishing out combination of punches few minutes after his knockdown. Momentarily Micah opened a flurry of punches on Rivera disorganizing his defence after the knockdown and dropped Rivera again in the process.

Micah continue to pound Rivera unleashing combinations on him throughout round four to the eight round winning unanimously on all three cards of the judges with
79-72, 77-74 and 78-73.
