Former world champion, Isaac the ‘RoyalStorm’ Dogboe, didn’t take kindly to Amin Lamptey’s comments and made his feelings known on twitter after Boxing Ghana published the story headlined:
“Opponents Are Very Deceptive So Go Into Bouts With Varied Strategies-Former GBA PRO To Isaac Dogboe”
For what he perceives as a constant pessimism by the former Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Boxing Authority, Dogboe makes subtle dig at Amin Lamptey
“I hadn’t even stepped in the ring yet and already some people were saying what if he loses. It’s never what if he wins.” Dogboe said as he further branded the Ring Announcer a man of little faith.
“Ye men of little faith”
Background:
Boxing Ghana published a story by Stephen Zando, who doubles as a sports presenter with YFM, on an interview that he did with Amin Lamptey.
Opponents Are Very Deceptive So Go Into Bouts With Varied Strategies-Former GBA PRO To Isaac Dogboe
In the interview, the former GBA capo arguably tries to highlight what he perceives as Dogboe’s weaknesses.
“So for me, I think that, the only problem I have with Isaac is the punching power and I saw some changes in his last fight regarding this.
“Also, you must, as a boxer, go into fights with varied strategies because we don’t go into a fight with the preoccupation of you going to stop your opponent come what may, and that’s the game plan of Isaac Dogboe, which is wrong.
“As a boxer, you should have varieties of strategies because opponents are very deceptive”.
“You may watch a video of your opponent fighting in a different style but when the person meets you, depending on how you approach the game and how you present yourself to the opponent, he might change his game plan.
“So if you think that, yours is just going to stop your opponents regardless, then you are going to laugh at the wrong side of your mouth, just as we saw in Navarrete’s fight”. Amin Lamptey expressed.
But the former champ made an exception to Lamptey’s comments and has hit back in a subtle dig at the TV host with Ghana Television (GTV), Amin Lamptey.
