David Morrell made quick work of Sena Agbeko in two rounds
It was a night to forget as confident Ghanaian pugilist Sena Agbeko (28-3, 22 KOs) lost in a two round technical knockout to a very skillful David Morrell (10-0,9KOs) at The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Cuban poster boy now improves his undefeated record to double figures now reading ten victory, nine by way of knockouts and still undefeated.
A double combination coupled with a sweet upper cut staggered the hapless Ghanaian whose defense was totally off on the night.
The self styled ‘African Assassin’ clearly looked out of depth and a stamina suspect as his recovery ethics after every punch was very poor on the night. Perhaps he got overhauled by the occasion as the hostile fans were vociferously supporting the champion.
Morrell delivered according to his pre-fight promise “My goal is to leave a lasting impression on those watching for the last time with a great performance.” And yes he did.
Referee Mark Nelson had no choice but to halt the fight due to the barrage of punches to fired the way of Agbeko by David Morrell.
The event marks the final Showtime Championship Boxing after 37 years of boxing broadcasting and it sure lived up to its hype.
