Daniel Roman calls for an immediate rematch with Murodjon Akhmadaliev

Former IBF and WBA super bantamweight unified champion Daniel Roman is looking forward to slugging it out again immediately after losing his titles to Murodjon Akhmadaliev on a razor thin split decision.

Roman 29, (27-3-1, 10KOs) lost his fifth title defence on the Demetrius Andrade-Luke Keeler under card to his mandatory challenger Murodjon Akhmadaliev in an all action packed twelve round championship. The Los Angeles native believe he won the fight but will not contest the verdict but rather will seek to take a second crack with Akhmadaliev.

“It was a close fight, and I take my hat off to Akhmadaliev for being a true warrior. I want a rematch because I think I won the fight. I believe I deserve to get that opportunity because I left it all in the ring. I know Akhmadaliev has the heart of a champion, and I believe he’ll want to face me once more to settle the score between us.” Said Roman who is seeking to become a two time unified champion.
“There is no doubt in my mind that I’ll once again be a world champion when that opportunity presents itself. My promoters and management team are the best. I know they will get it done. I’m going to do everything in my power to get my world titles back.” He added.
