🇬🇭 Countdown to the African Games in Accra: Focus on Kenyan boxers of 1978

COMING SOON: In our continuing series on African Games boxing tournament countdown, we focus on how the mighty Kenyan boxers captured the overall team title in the 1978 African Games in Algiers as fast-rising Azumah Nelson wins Ghana’s first ever African Games boxing gold medal with Adamah Mensah adding second gold.

We’ll also talk to Azumah on his epic toe-to-toe featherweight final against Kenya’s ring technician Modesty Napunyi Oduori, and focus on why world champion Steve Muchoki lost to Zambia’s Francis Musankabala in the light-flyweight final, and how Kenya’s ring marshall Kamau “Pipino” Wanyoike (pictured) destroyed Uganda’s big-punching John ‘The Beast” Mugabi in the light-welterweight semi-finals.

Keep it right here as we look forward to a dazzling boxing show in the African Games in Accra to be organised by the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC ) in conjunction with Local Organising Committee (LOC).
