Ghana’s most exciting boxer Briamah Kamoko Bukom Banku (30-1,23 KOs) is set for his first professional career fight outside of Ghana when he squares off with Hungarian Ferenc Albert (27-16, 15KOs) at the St. George Hall in Bradford, UK on September 7, 2019.
The international cruiserweight contest has been put together by Monarch Events and Promotions established in 2007.
The World Boxing Organization (WBO)Africa cruiserweight champion Briamah Kamoko must rekindle his career with a win against a Romanian born 26 year old in Ferenc Albert whose last fight was a TKO victory over debutant Geza Kovacs at the Morrison’s Pub, Budapest- Hungary on January 13.
Albert, a former Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) European Light Heavyweight Titlist, has had previous stints at the vacant World Boxing Council Youth Silver Light Heavyweight Title but lost out to Liam Conroy, a boxer who was floored by Joshua Buatsi early this year via a brutal TKO.
He lost against Germany’s Toni Kraft in their vacant World Boxing Council Youth World Cruiser Title in 2016 and had earlier suffered a similar TKO when he attempted a shot at the World Boxing Organisation European Super Middle Title in 2015 against Jamie Cox.
Almost 70 percent of the Hungarian’s defeats came as a result of his attempts to win a major strap. He comes up against a fighter who has tasted defeat once in his over 31 professional bouts.
Briamah Issah Kamoko is a former West African Boxing Union Super Middle Titist, African Boxing Union Light Heavy, World Boxing Organisation Africa Light Heavy, World Boxing Organisation Africa Light Heavy,
World Boxing Organisation Africa Cruiser Titles and is arguably Ghana’s most popular boxer. His only defeat was against current undefeated Samir Bastie.
Bukom Banku is now 39 years and must be battle -ready to overcome Ferenc 26 years of age. The only advantage in this fight for the Hungarian is perhaps the age difference of 13 years but then again Senator Manny Pacquiao’s victory over Keith Thurman has somewhat nullified that argument even though the dynamics are different.
For sure, Bukom Banku is the fighter to beat going into this titanic battle
