The gaffer of the Ghana Amateur boxing team Coach Ofori Asare is confidently optimistic in the current squad and is striving assiduously to improve the medal chest.

Young boxing prospect Jesse Lartey was the only athlete that won a medal in the 21st Commonwealth Games which was staged at the Gold Coast in Australia, a feat the coach is optimistic of improving come Tokyo 2020.
The experienced trainer , who doubles as an Instructor for International Boxing Association (AIBA) and has coached many Ghanaian boxers greats, is asking corporate Ghana to assist the team with boxing accoutrements.
“We need the support of corporate Ghana as regards to kit, gloves and other boxing accoutrements.” The 2017 SWAG award winner expressed.
Boxing is on a surge in Ghana and Coach Asare is one of the few stakeholders assisting in this department as he prepares Ghana for greater heights come next year Tokyo 2020.
