The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) in collaboration with the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) and National Juvenile Committee (NJC) will launch the upcoming Bukom Fist of Fury Fight Nights Boxing League on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the M J Grand Hotel at East Legon.
According to Moses Foh Amoaning, the Marketing / Technical Consultant of the programme, series of meetings have been held with stakeholders, and they decided to reschedule the dates to have time and space for adequate preparation, and also have time to attract sponsorship..
He said M J Grand Hotel will host the Media / Sponsors Soiree to unveil and launch the Bukom Fist of Fury ‘BoxBizz’ programme comprising boxing and showbiz Extravaganza on Friday September 21 where at the newly designed Tournament Logo, Mascot named “Papa Asafo Atswele” and the new National, West Africa and Commonwealth Title Belts will be on display.
He revealed that the nation’s best musicians like Sarkodie, Amanzeba Nat Brew and Reggie Rockstone, the grandpapa of Hiplife and comedian Baba Spirit will thrill the guests; also there would be a fashion show by Gem Afrik Fashions and Bozomah Clothing. KKD and Nat Attoh will compare the show,
The former GBA President said a delegation from the GBA , GBF and Juvenile Committee will visit the chiefs in the Greater Accra region, then pay courtesy calls on former Presidents of Ghana, HE. Jerry John Rawlings, HE John Agyekum Kufour and HE. John Mahama.
According to the Law and Marketing expert, on Wednesday September 26th, there would be another Media Soiree and Sponsors ‘Night Out with the Legends’ at the A H Hotel (near America House) at East Legon at 6pm.
Moses Foh Amoaning said on October 5 and 6, the “Grassroots” Gravy Train will come along in a Street Jam Carnival, with popular local musical and entertainment artistes who will move and shake communities like Chorkor, Mamprobi, Korle Gonno, Bukom, and James Town. The Gravy Train will climax at the Chorkor Extra O park, and Manste Agbona park at James Town on October 5th and 6th respectively.
Similar programmes would be held in Osu, La Nungua, Madina, Nima and Ashiaman on dates to be announced later as activation sessions to each of the 26 tournaments.
He added that between October 3, 4 and 5, the Fist of Fury Media Work Out comes off at the Accra Mall, Junction Mall and West Hills Mall.
“On Monday, October 8, the Gravy Train stops at the seat of government, the Jubilee House to meet President Nana Akuffo Addo, who is a strong boxing enthusiast” he said.
A Press Conference to introduce the boxers has been planned for Wednesday October 10 at the Bukom Boxing Arena at 10am, and the Weigh In fixed for October 11 at the same venue, where the Rules Meeting will take place.
The Fists of Fury Fight Night which is sponsored by GNPC, ADB, MTN, GOC and other companies starts from Friday October 12 at the Bukom Boxing Arena at 4pm and continues every two weeks.
