Bukom Fist of Fury Boxing League Postponed After 7 Weeks As Ghana Boxing Lose 2 Officials … Discipline Club Leads The Pack

With 8 Weeks to go to end the first round of the exciting Bukom Fist of Fury Boxing League, Discipline Club has taken the lead with 10 points out of 16 appearances.

They are followed by the Fit Square Gym under the leadership of coach Lartequaye Lartey, assistant trainer of the Black Bomber, the national team comprising Jessie Lartey who won Bronze for Ghana at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

They also have 9 points from 16 appearances. Sea View Gym are third in 12 appearances with 7 points, followed by Akotoku Academy, The Gym, Bukom Boxing Club, BA, CSPY, Attoh Quarshie, Charles Quartey Boxing Foundation (CQBF), Wisdom Club, PPBA, SA and WM who have participated in 16 bouts and have 0 points.They have however won 2 bouts and lost the rest.

The fixtures for Week 8 have been released by the Technical Department of the GBF with CSPY facing Sea View, Seconds Out will clash with CQBF and Akotoku against Wisdom.
Attoh Quarshie who have been performing well under the guide of coach Akai Nettey, assistant national team trainer will challenge PPBA.

So far it has been wonderful, and friendly exchanges since the competition moved to the communities from the Bukom Boxing Arena to Chorkor, to Bukom to James Town to Sukura. The gravy train is moving and it may stop in your community.

The entertainment aspect of the show has been slow of late and the production team appeals to personalities and organisations to support the series which is to bring fun and entertainment to the people.

Clyde T. Narh, the production manager said luck of funds has made it very difficult to put pieces together, but will try to catch up with the rest of the League.

The Bukom Fist of Fury Boxing League completes with 26 Weeks, made up of two rounds of 13 Weeks.

George Lamptey, the GBF president has commended all who have supported in the organization of the League and he hopes things will get better and the boxers will be happy.

He said the dream is big, as they have started slowly praying to get better and grab gold for Ghana at the next Olympic Games in 2020.

The sad news is that this week, the Bukom Fist of Fury Boxing League will not come on due to the death of two distinguished personalities, the late Ben Tawiah and Rosemary Ametepe, the first female boxing official the nation has produced.
