As part of the strategic plans to move boxing to the people and save some costs, the 5th edition of the Bukom Fist of Fury Boxing League will be held at the Deep Sea spot at James Town on Friday, December 7, 2018.
The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) and Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) decided to move the league to popular venues across and once in a while come back to the boxing arena when there is a bigger stake like an African or Commonwealth title.
George Lamptey, president of the GBF who is leading the organization of the fifth edition said he is working cordially with the Bukom Fist Of Fury team and every thing is moving smoothly.
He said there will be no professional bout, but expected 16 thrilling and exciting action packed bouts by eight clubs.
National team Coach Ofori Asare who is technical head of the team announced the pairing as: The Gym versus Discipline, Fits Square versus Wisdom / Mascaline Gym (WM), Bronx / Accra Gym (BA) versus Black Panthers / Bukom (BB) while Wisdom club faces Panix / Powerful/ Beach / Ashiaman (PPBA). Some clubs have merged to form formidable teams
Most of the Black Bombers, like Omar Wahid and Jessie Lartey who who won bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia are making appearances and may take autographs and photos.
Weigh in takes place on Friday morning at the bukom boxing arena at 9;00 am and all gyms and boxers are adviced to report on time.
Deep Sea, one of the oldest entertainment centers at James Town is opposite the old slaughter house.
The 4th edition took place at Chorkor Extra O park, and it was a thriller and shocker as the amateur boxers and musicians put up wonderful performances.
