BooksB4Hooks Juvenile Boxing Event Began Yesterday, 24th June, 2022
The BooksB4Hooks juvenile Boxing event began yesterday as 66 juvenile boxers turned up for the 2022 edition of the Greater Accra Boxing Association School Boys and Girls Tournament. The tournament will feature 10 boxing Clubs out of 15 active clubs in the region.
This year’s edition is an improvement over the 2021 edition as boxers competed in their weight classes. Also, the tournament has been progressive as this year’s edition will be the first time a champion will emerge at the end of the event.
Officiating is also expected to improved to increase fairness.
Boxing fans, parents and teachers of the young boxers turned up to support their favourite future boxing stars.
The champions of the tournament will participate in an 8 week non residential camping.
The event began yesterday with weighing held at the Bukom Boxing Arena and fight sessions at the Will Power Boxing Gym.
10 bouts have been fought already with 34 more to go. The action continues today at 11:00am at the Will Power Boxing Club.
The tournament will end on Sunday with the semi finals, and the finals of the event will be held in August during the Homowo Boxing Tournament.
